Mental Health Colorado is pleased to honor the members of the Brighton Youth Commission as Youth of the Year.  The Commission’s 22 teenagers and six adults, all appointed by the Brighton City Council, have spearheaded a series of community service projects – including a creative approach to suicide prevention. In 2012, the Commission launched a weeklong program of suicide prevention, education, awareness, and knowledge: S.P.E.A.K Week. Barbara has demonstrated extraordinary leadership to identifying the gaps in Colorado’s mental health system, rallying statewide support for reform, and bringing national attention to the cause. Mental Health Colorado is pleased to honor the CHARG Resource Center as Organization of the Year. For more than 25 years, CHARG has delivered an innovative array of professional and peer-led services to adults with major mental illnesses. CHARG was founded in 1989 as a joint venture between HEART of Boardwalk and the Capitol Hill Action & Recreation Group.
