National Summit for Mental Health and Mental Fitness: Practical Solutions for Creating a Culture of Peace
July 23 - July 24
In order to be happy, healthy and productive human beings, we must address the mental health challenges that affect us and those we love. We must recognize that unaddressed mental health challenges can contribute to crime, violence, depression and suicide. And we must be present for ourselves and others. Bringing together the mental health and meditation communities for this important conversation sets the stage for inspiration and true collaboration.
2019 National Summit for Mental Health and Fitness brings together thought leaders, advocates and those with lived experience from across sectors to share ideas and strategies. This gathering will be guided by a key question: How can diverse perspectives on healing emotional pain and suffering come together to create something new and innovative that can reach those who are suffering?
The goal of the summit is to expand the vision of what is possible in community mental health systems. We will explore a variety of multi-disciplinary approaches that incorporate evidence based, holistic, complementary and alternative approaches in an attempt to treat the whole person. This will make it possible for mental health professionals to offer services which are more integrated and oriented around promoting wellbeing as well as treating mental illness.
This two day summit will bring together policy makers, media representatives, government officials as well as leaders from business, education, healthcare, law enforcement, veteran affairs, prison reform for open and honest conversations aimed at improving the mental health in our families, our schools, and our communities. Join subject matter experts, parents, students, veterans and those with lived experience as we work toward a common mission.
