DESCRIPTION:  \nRSVP\n\n\nEVENT CONTACT: Michael Barber (mbarber@afsp.org)\nREGISTRATION DEADLINE: 3/17/24 \nHosted by the AFSP Colorado Chapter\, Mental Health Colorado\, the Suicide Prevention Coalition of Colorado\, and NAMI Colorado the Suicide Prevention Day at the capitol will bring together passionate volunteers to advocate for state policy changes that will improve mental health and prevent suicide. Interested advocates will have the opportunity to meet with our state legislators as part of the event to: \n\nShare with them why suicide prevention is important to YOU and to your community\nEducate them about the work being done in your community to prevent suicide\nTeach them what more must be done to prevent suicide.\n\nThe event will include a brief training session on the basics of an effective advocacy visit and current policy issues impacting suicide prevention. Following\, advocates will have the opportunity to attend meetings with state legislators that will be scheduled ahead of time. \nLunch will be provided.

DESCRIPTION:The International Association for Healthcare Security & Safety Colorado Chapter is pleased to announce its first annual hike-a-thon (virtual) to raise money for the Colorado chapter as well as Mental Health Colorado! \nWhat is a hike-a-thon? It’s a 5K adventure of your choosing! From June 25th-30th pick your favorite trail\, treadmill\, or school track and put some distance on those shoes! (3.1miles to be exact) Take some pictures and post them up tagging the chapter so we can cheer you on! \nEach ticket is $25 total (fees and all) and 25% of our proceeds will be donated to Mental Health Colorado to support their mission. DESCRIPTION:Voices With Impact is a year-long project that celebrates mental health stories told by filmmakers with unique perspectives and lived experience. \nFrom June 21 to June 25 Art With Impact will be hosting a free\, online short film festival focused on stories of Black and immigrant mental health. The festival kicks off with a screening of short films\, followed by a series of virtual workshops around these topics. The festival sessions will center the voices and experiences of Black and immigrant folks\, while being open to the broader community. \nYou can learn more about the program\, and register to attend\, here.
