Cherisse Davis joined Mental Health Colorado in 2017, after graduating from the University of Denver with a degree in international disaster psychology. She also works part-time as a therapist providing community mental health. Cherisse is passionate about mental health, specifically in caring individuals and communities impacted by trauma – an interest that first began while volunteering with a local disaster relief organization in Austin, TX.

Since then, this interest has led her to providing support for mental health workers in Sri Lanka, to lead wellness programs for refugee children in Turkey, and to continue to provide compassionate and comprehensive therapy for individuals in Denver.

In her free time, Cherisse has been volunteering as a research associate for International Medical Corps and UNHCR. She speaks fluent Turkish, and enjoys getting to explore the beautiful outdoors of the Rocky Mountains.
