Julia graduated from the University of Denver in 2020 with a degree in Chicano studies and a minor in Psychology. During her time at the university she served on the board of the Latinx Student Alliance and is currently on the board of the Colorado Mental Wellness Network. Julia was fortunate to receive mental health services from a young age and this access was pivotal to becoming the woman she is today, making accessibility to mental health services an important issue to her. Additionally, she knows firsthand how stigmatized mental health issues are within the Latinx community, leaving many within the community struggling. With a strong passion for both mental health and the Latinx culture and community, Julia hopes to destigmatize mental health issues and widen the gap for individuals to receive the services they deserve.
Julia is currently pursuing her doctorate in clinical psychology with the intention of becoming a bilingual clinician in Spanish and English to best help heal those in need.
