Maria is currently an intern at Mental Health Colorado. She will be graduating from the University of Northern Colorado this December with a degree in Sociology and a minor in Gender Studies. Maria’s personal experience as a suicide loss survivor and witness to mental health crises have uncovered a hidden passion for mental health awareness and education.  She has become an advocate for her family, friends, and community. She has been involved in various mental health activities, fundraisers, and suicide prevention trainings. She loves spending time with her friends, family, and pets; watching movies (thrillers are her favorite); and listening to music.
