Mike is currently a Master of Social Work student at Metropolitan State University of Denver. He joined Mental Health Colorado to gain experience in advocacy and macro-level practice. Mike has experience in a variety of mental and community health settings including research, organization development, restorative justice, and counseling. He currently works as a peer specialist for youth and young adults who experience psychosis.

Mike’s experiences with bipolar inspire him to improve the mental health of others, especially those receiving treatment for mental health conditions. Mike is interested in establishing a positive common culture and identity among consumers of mental health services, as well as promoting the excellence of people with mental heath conditions.

Mike holds B.A.s in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire, and an MPH in Community Health Promotion from the University of Minnesota. He enjoys skiing, hiking, and spending time with friends.
