Sam comes to Mental Health Colorado from a journalism background. They earned their Bachelor of Journalism degree at the University of Missouri. Sam is especially proud of the work they did as an assistant producer of a news show and podcast for the local NPR affiliate. Sam is in their second year of law school at University of Denver, where they are refining their advocacy and research skills.

Sam is passionate about working in the mental health field, as they have experienced firsthand the devastating effects of mental illness. They want to use their legal education to advance policy and common law to reflect the rights of marginalized populations. Sam wants to make sure that people are provided with the mental health resources they need before they are forced to make contact with the criminal system. 

In their free time, Sam likes to be outdoors, listen to live music, and spend time with their friends and pets.
