Shambhavi Prathap (Shamvi) obtained her triple-major bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Sociology, and English from Christ University in Bangalore, and completed her honors-thesis degree in Psychology from the University of Windsor in Canada. Currently, she is a final-year graduate student in the International Disaster Psychology: Trauma and Global Mental Health program at the University of Denver’s Graduate School of Professional Psychology. Shamvi has had eight years of experience working in the mental health field in different capacities, including academia, psychotherapy, education & training, and social justice. As a self-proclaimed “perpetually curious learner”, Shamvi values awareness-driven work towards creating meaningful impact. Through her internship at Mental Health Colorado, she is keen on exploring the role that systems-level and policy-based operations play in influencing felt senses of equity, and examining the ways in which the needs of the oppressed and marginalized can be amplified.
