Wendy is in long term recovery from both substance use and mental health issues, and is a CCAR and CHOICES trained Peer Support Specialist with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and her Colorado Peer and Family Specialist credential. She is a Community Reinforcement and Family Training Facilitator as well as a Smart Recovery and Friends and Family Facilitator. In addition Wendy sits on the COPA CPFS committee, City of Denver Peer Workforce Advisory Committee and, and the Recovery Workgroup of the Colorado Consortium for Prescription Drug Abuse. Wendy has worked in a trailblazing program for Denver Couty Courts for the past 2 years as a Forensic Peer Navigator. Prior to that she was a Peer Support Specialist for Behavioral Health Group an Opioid Treatment Center allowing her to be well versed in all matters relating to Medication Assisted Therapy. She is also passionate about helping others to find their own path out of addiction. When not working, Wendy spends her time outdoors hiking and enjoying nature, reading, and crafting. In addition, she also volunteers as part of a Pet Therapy team at local hospitals.
