Legislative Education & Advocacy Day (LEAD) is a free community event hosted by Mental Health Colorado that brings together over one hundred advocates, policymakers, and community leaders to advance mental health policy. LEAD offers public education, advocacy training, and direct engagement with legislators. In 2025, 112 advocates participated in advocacy training and visited the Capitol to engage directly with their Senators & Representatives.
Itinerary
7:30 AM – 11:00 AM
Morning at the Capitol
Join us at the First Baptist Church of Denver for an advocacy training breakfast and expert-led panel followed by a trip to the Colorado State Capitol building to observe floor proceedings and directly engage with legislators on key policies that impact the health and well-being of all Coloradans.
11:00 AM – 1:30 PM
Afternoon Event
We’ll transition back from the Capitol to the First Baptist Church of Denver for a complimentary networking lunch with fellow advocates, partner organizations, and state policymakers and officials. After lunch, you’ll hear from Mental Health Colorado’s President & CEO, Vincent Atchity.
