Psychiatric Advance Directive (PAD)

In 2019, Mental Health Colorado championed House Bill 19-1044. This law took us a step closer to caring for mental health equal to physical health. The new law allows Coloradans to create a psychiatric advance directive to specify their health care preferences in the event of a mental health crisis that prevents them from making decisions for themselves.

No one is immune to mental health crises, and we believe it’s important for all Coloradans to be prepared with a psychiatric advance directive. Help us make Colorado that state where everyone talks about mental health. Filling out a psychiatric advance directive should be a rite of passage for all Coloradans!
