What’s Happening in Colorado
* Colorado Children’s Campaign released its annual publication, “KIDS COUNT in Colorado.”
This provides a snapshot of the many factors impacting Colorado at a county and state level. This year’s report has a special focus on youth mental health – highlighting the state of well-being among our kids.
* In an executive order, Governor Polis created the Working Group on Transforming Criminal and Juvenile Justice.
Its purpose is to study and make recommendations for a further permanent, multi-disciplinary, evidence-based entity or entities to address the issues related to criminal and juvenile justice.

* The Mike Johnston Administration launched a new dashboard.
This measures the progress to house and shelter 1,000 individuals by the end of 2023.

* U.S. Senators Tina Smith (D-MN), Alex Padilla (D-CA), Thom Tillis (R-NC), and Joni Ernst (R-IA) launched the bipartisan Senate Mental Health Caucus.
This group of Senators will focus on collaborating and promoting bipartisan legislative solutions to address the national mental health crisis.
* Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) recently released the Mental Health Client-Level Data (MH-CLD) 2021: Data on Clients Receiving Mental Health Treatment Services.
Through State Mental Health Agencies. This report provides demographic, clinical, and National Outcome Measures data on adults and children receiving publicly funded mental health treatment services.

* The Office for Civil Rights (OCR) at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), issued two resource documents.
These help explain to providers and patients the privacy and security risks to their protected health information (PHI) when using telehealth services and ways to reduce these risks.
