Do you support school policies and funding that increase the availability of mental health services in schools and early childhood settings?
  • YesI work with youth and families everyday that could benefit from additional resources in our schools. Teachers are there to do their job in educating are young people and schools should have the resources and staff to address social/emotional needs of their students.
Do you support additional funding for follow-up care for individuals after a suicide attempt or overdose?
  • YesServices should always be offered at any point of time for people experiencing mental health or addiction crises as it takes many times for people to engage in services.
Do you support extreme risk protection orders?
  • I would like more information and I would evaluate depending on the legislation keeping in mind people’s rights to confidentiality and the stigma around mental health so not to further perpetuate.
Do you support strengthening laws and transparency requirements compelling insurance companies to provide coverage for the treatment of mental health and substance use disorders that is equal to the coverage provided for a physical illness?
  • Yes: Mental health and substance abuse disorders are public health issues and should be treated as such by having coverage.
Do you support strengthening requirements that insurance companies have enough mental health and substance use professionals to guarantee their members have a choice of provider?
